At the first Consultation, we continue the discussion about what you want from the sessions. What results do you want to see in your life? What needs to be different? What is getting in the way? * Although it may feel like a discussion at first, it becomes apparent that the questions become more probing of your beliefs and attitudes. In this way, Colin uses his Master NLP and Coaching skills to get to the root of the self-sabotaging behaviour (see also, 'Do I Need To Tell Colin My Personal Secrets?' below). During the first, or subsequent sessions, Colin may also use other techniques so as to communicate with your subconscious mind (you will be fully awake and participating) to find out what direction to take the session. This is how he can make significant progress with clients quicker than with other psychotherapies. * For pure coaching this may be the direction taken, but Colin is sensitive to the client's demeanor, willingness to express themselves, etc., so it may start in an entirely different way depending upon the circumstances. At any time he may suggest using any of the other techniques and methods he has been fully trained in – all of which you use on yourself! At all times, you are fully in control of the session (even if Colin uses Hypnotherapy). Colin will also teach you techniques you can use upon yourself so you are empowered to heal yourself between sessions. Do I Need To Tell Colin My Personal Secrets? No. Colin often works 'content free', which means he does not need to know what happened. In every case, clients can get significant, lasting results without telling Colin anything about the actual details of their life. What Colin does need, is a willingness from you to tell him how you feel about ‘it’ right now (whatever ‘it’ might be). The ‘area of concern’ can also be useful in particular circumstances. What is needed is enough information about how you ‘feel’ about it now, and after we have dealt with the feelings, what residual beliefs about yourself are left that could block your progress. You will be fully guided throughout the process and any block (or lack of feelings, etc.) can be overcome. Is There Any After Care?Once the ‘problem’ has been resolved, Colin will want to make sure you are able to generalise the new coding throughout your being, and your confidence and inner resources are all leading you in the direction you now want to go. There is always a telephone Review Session built in to make sure you have released all that was stopping you, and nothing new has evolved. In the case of Chronic Self Sabotage (see Types of Self Sabotage), the programme of help includes more substantial telephone support as it has been established that these cases are more complex and relapses are common in the short term. What Commitments Are Made? The Self Improvement Coach has already invested a huge amount time and money so as to be able to facilitate you in making the changes you want to make. He will also commit to giving you his full attention and expertise during his time with you. He asks that you commit yourself to completing the programme* (at whatever level), and to make this investment in your life a priority. If there is resistance to making yourself a priority, make an appointment now! * You can book a group of 3 or 10 Consultations, but you can also Bank any unused sessions for future use (not transferable to another person).
